Connect
Connect is Tyler School of Art’s annual Design and Illustration Networking Event. This event provides students with the opportunity to connect with industry professionals, refine their pitching skills, and gain valuable career insights.
As Design Manager, I oversaw all visual aspects of the event, ensuring a cohesive and well-executed brand. I organized and led brainstorming sessions, set expectations for concept development, and assembled design presentations for review. My focus was on making sure every idea was fully explored, while collaborating with the Project Manager to evenly distribute deliverables across the team.

For the logo and brand identity we took into consideration the purpose and vibe of the event. The typography, logo, icons, and pattern works to represent the professional and personal connections that are to be made. The color palette is clean and eye-catching, working to encapsulate Connect’s night time vibe.
Social media presence was vital to this event. For our reminder, rsvp, and thank you posts we decided to make animated reels as we found those have much higher engagement. In addition being an event for designer, these posts were the first glimpse of the event for the invitees, so it was essential that the brand identity was showcased.
Since this event is the Design and Illustration seniors last event at Tyler before Graduation, we felt it was important to create a resource for them that is commemorative and also a useful resource. We created the D&I Roadmap with sections that discuss important topics relating to the post-grad adjustment. This includes job seeking tools, interview tips, design resources, etc. We also made the booklet memorable and fun with a yearbook section, superlatives, and page to leave signatures.
At the event we had signage ranging from posters, banners, wayfinding, tabletop conversation starters, stickers, labels for student work, etc. These all worked to be cohesive with the branding and provide attendees with a sense of identity and understanding of the event and where they need to be.
